Spot Pay Parking (“Spot Pay Parking,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a web-based parking payment platform used by customers to pay for parking at participating parking lots in Oklahoma, and by parking lot owners and their staff to manage those lots. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have regarding that information. This Policy applies to spotpayparking.com and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
From Customers:
- Mobile phone number, used to send a one-time passcode (OTP) to verify your identity before payment.
- Vehicle information you provide (such as make, model, color, or license plate) to associate with a parking session.
- Parking session details: lot location, start and end time, and duration purchased.
- Payment information. Card numbers are entered directly into forms hosted by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), and are never transmitted to or stored on our own servers. We receive limited payment metadata from Stripe, such as the transaction amount, approval status, and card type/last four digits.
- Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the Service.
From Parking Lot Owners and Staff:
- Business and contact information, including name, business name, address, email, and phone number.
- Payout and banking information, collected and stored directly by Stripe as part of Stripe Connect onboarding. We do not store your bank account or routing numbers.
- Account credentials and staff access information for the lot owner administrative dashboard.
2. How We Use Information
- To verify your identity and process parking payments.
- To send transactional text messages: OTP verification codes, parking session confirmations, expiration warnings, and reply-to-extend session updates.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To calculate and remit payouts to parking lot owners via Stripe Connect.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- To respond to customer support requests and communicate with you about your account or parking sessions.
3. Text Messaging Program
By providing your mobile phone number and requesting a one-time passcode, you consent to receive transactional text messages from Spot Pay Parking related to the parking session you initiated, including OTP verification codes, session confirmations, expiration warnings, and reply-to-extend messages. Message frequency varies based on your parking activity. Message and data rates may apply.
You may reply STOP at any time to opt out of further text messages, and HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages may prevent you from completing a parking payment, since OTP verification is required to pay.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in information is used solely to deliver the transactional messages described above.
4. How We Share Information
We share information with the following categories of parties:
- Stripe, Inc. to process payments and, for parking lot owners, to facilitate payouts via Stripe Connect.
- Twilio Inc. to send OTP codes and other transactional text messages.
- The parking lot owner associated with a session, limited to the information necessary to identify your vehicle and session (such as vehicle description, session time, and validation status).
- Supabase / hosting and infrastructure providers that store and process data on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Spot Pay Parking, our users, or the public.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
5. Payment Security
All card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe-hosted fields and are never transmitted to or stored on Spot Pay Parking’s servers. For more information, see Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Parking session and transaction records are generally retained for at least the period required by applicable tax and financial recordkeeping laws.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses of it. Effective January 1, 2027, the Oklahoma Consumer Data Privacy Act grants these rights to Oklahoma residents for businesses that meet certain processing thresholds. Regardless of whether the law strictly applies to us, you may contact us at any time using the information in Section 12 to make a request, and we will respond in a reasonable time.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
